Challenge

When it came to economic development, Kenosha County was the hottest spot in the state of Wisconsin. The problem was, not many businesses were aware of Kenosha's talented workforce, favorable financing and shovel-ready land development opportunities. Our job? Roll up our sleeves and work with the Kenosha Area Business Alliance to develop a marketing strategy that promoted the unexpected advantages Kenosha has to offer.

Solution

We generated human interest by creating the Unexpected Kenosha campaign. A website was developed featuring video profiles of companies that had relocated, expanded and recruited within Kenosha – a community whose economic development incentives ensured their success. Last year, Unexpected Kenosha helped contribute to some unexpected growth of its own: over 3,000 jobs, $500 million in new investment, and four million square feet of commercial development.
