Local brewery taps EC to establish brand identity.

District 14 Brewery and Pub recently opened its doors at 2273 S. Howell Ave. in Bay View, just south of downtown Milwaukee. (The name of the establishment is a tribute to the district designation of the Bay View neighborhood.)

The brewpub’s self-professed objective is “to sell the freshest possible beer directly to the person who is drinking it, one glass at a time.” D14 offers ten unique beers on tap, available in pints and growlers.

Working with the brand attributes of quality, heritage and unparalleled freshness, the EC team created an approachable identity that – taking its cue from the beer itself – felt like it was handcrafted in small batches.

The brand identity led to on-premise signage, in-store posters, glassware design and growler labeling, The themeline “Fresh beer is better beer” positioned District 14 as the destination of choice for Bay View’s local beer connoisseurs.

“We designed the brand identity to be warm and inviting,” says Executive Creative Director, Dean Helmke. “The invitation is: Come on in, sit down with your neighbors and friends, and enjoy fresh beer the way it’s supposed to be made.”

Here’s to fresh beer and inspired design. Cheers!
